Off we go goodbye snow

Well the Journey has begun, Macdog is dropped off at his second families house (Dave, Kathy and Tommy's) where he has 3 other dogs to play with and will be spoilt rotten! Off to Vancouver international we go. We get to the airport via the park and fly bus and Rhonda' realizes that the shoes she was supposed to change into are still in the car, Glen carries on to get us checked in and Rhonda leaves with the park and fly bus and back to the car she goes to change shoes, np back to the airport and we meet up - Glen didn't leave without me lol. We check in and off through security we go...

Our first flight is a grueling 14 hours flight to Hong Kong then. We are flying Cathay Pacific ans we board a brand new plane with awesome seats and entertainment systems etc. The fight is very smooth and we eventually land in HK which is socked in with fog. After some quick refreshment we board a 4 hour flight to Kuala Lumpur where the pit tells us we will be landing in 32 degree sunny weather. We walk off the plane and BAM the humidity hits us right away phew ! We grab our bags and jump on a very modern train to Sentral station in KL where Our freind Susan picks us up and off we go to their penthouse home in the middle of KL. we have been traveling 3 virtual days as We left Chilliwack at 8pm on Tuesday night and because we flew across the international date line we zoomed forward in time by a day and arrived here on Thursday so traveled 3 days but not really. We had a much needed shower, put on fresh clothes (ahhh shorts and T shirts) and out we go to meet up with Anne and Maurice who have just flown out from Australia to spend a week with us.

Andy and Susan take us to a food night market in KL which is not used by tourists. We look around at little outdoor kitchens making all sorts of local dishes. Rice dishes, noodle dishes, grilled meats, currys, veg wraps etc. Susan takes charge and sits us at a big table and orders about 20 dishes for us all to share. The food keeps arriving in waves and we can't even see the table for the vast amount of food. We all pick away at the food which is super tasty and there is nothing weird for Glen to eat. One of the dishes is covered in a chilli peanut sauce wow we are on fire lol. The food is awesome and the bill comes to 45 Ringitt which is about $15 for the 6 of us - gotta love Asia teeheehee. After dinner we stop at a sidewalk bar and order a "tower" of beer to share. We get a 4 ft tall container of beer placed on our table and this thing must have about 20 pints in it. Oh well gotta go to it boys !!!

After a great night out in KL we head to bed at Andy and Susan's . Tomorrow the 6 of us head to the airport for our short 50 min flight over to the Malaysian island of Lankawi. See ya there in our next blog folks !!
